Big Yellow Taxi

This piece was constructed by Stephen Coburn and was inspired by the Joney Mitchell's song by the same name. The song's second verse says "they took all the trees and put them in a tree museum, and charged everyone a dollar and a half just to see 'em". Inspired by this environmental message, Stephen decided to create a tree for this tree museum. After entering the piece into Dungog Common's 'Sculpture on the Farm' competition, where it won the Acquisitive Prize.
Its permanent home is in the world's greatest tree museum-Dungog Common.
Made from 316 Marine-grade stainless steel, painted yellow.
